Extrusion Die Polishing Machine

TO THE ATTENTION OF COMPANIES THAT PRODUCE GLASS (GLASSWARE, ACCESSORIES, HEADLIGHT etc.)
You will polish dies for hours no more.
Abrasive polishing machines, which constitute today's polishing technology, are produced in our country (and have been used in European Countries for years).
Advantages of abrasive polishing over manual polishing are:

  1. Polishing time lasts only 3-10 minutes regardless of die shape and bigness.
  2. Even the deepest bottom corner can be polished homogeneously regardless of die form and pattern.
  3. It polishes wire erosion surface without giving any damage to the surface of new dies.
  4. It is very important in scope of newly produced dies (intermediary polishing) to homogeneously remove just the cinder on die surface. Die pattern and form shall not be damaged while removing the cinder.
  5. Deburring shall be made without giving any damage to the edges of surfaces (such as screwthreaded gauges) with sharp edges (corners).
  6. It preserves the flow surface after the polishing for a long time against rusting.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE FABRICATING ALUMINIUM PROFILE

As in know, there are more than twenty methods of metal surface hardening.
A) Why nitration (tenifer) hardening is applied on flow surfaces of dies used for aluminum profile production:

  1. No contraction occurs after nitration on the surface. (Even if it occurs, it will be at a low level that can easily be compensated.)
  2. Lubricity on die flow surface is ensured.
  3. General hardening on die flow surface is ensured.

B) Things to take into consideration not to damage nitration surface during polishing after the nitration:

  1. Nitration (tenifer) cinder (residue) shall be removed from flow surface homogeneously (including the deepest bottom corner).
  2. Lubricity shall be preserved on die flow surface (including the deepest corner). This means "NITROGEN" surface shall be preserved at the same rate.
  3. Burr at the inner and outer edges of flow surface shall be removed evenly.
  4. Flow surface shall be protected against rust after polishing.

C) Otherwise, you may experience these:

  1. Profile flow will not be smooth.
  2. Die life will be short.
  3. Profile surface will not be orderly.
  4. Burrs that are not removed evenly at die's profile flow surface edge will put a strain on profile flow and scratch the profile.

D) "NITROGEN" surface is more visibly shown in the hardened die chart below.

E) If you want to avoid the problems stated in Article C, we recommend using "ABRASIVE POLISHING" which has been used in Europe for more than 20 years.
